Mom Dad and High School Daughter

Choosing your dream career can feel impossible.  You’re probably wondering how you can you make decisions about your future that will make you happy and your parents proud…..

High School Is A Pivotal Time.

You’re most likely thinking about your future a lot, and you are probably getting excited for the freedom that is coming.

You will make your own decisions.

You get to choose what you want you to do with the rest of your life.

And of course, deep down inside, you want your parents’ support and encouragement.

Those are some big decisions.

How Do I Choose My Dream Career?

Everyone dreams of one day having the perfect job that is fun, pays a lot and doesn’t feel like work.  But how do you get there?

How can you know for sure what you want to do in the future?

Rest assured, there are things you can do right now to help you in your decision-making.  Taking time now to learn about yourself, (what makes you tick), is the greatest investment in your future.

Believe it or not, you already have all of the answers within you.  An assessment inventory such as Career Direct will make this process much easier for you!

Read Anna’s story of how she changed her major a few times before she took the Career Direct Assessment.

The Career Direct Assessment is a 500 question online test that takes about an hour to complete.  It asks a series of questions, on a scale of 1 to 5, with “1” meaning, “I don’t like to do this at all!  to a “5”, meaning “I enjoy doing this all the time!” All you have to do is follow your gut and answer each question honestly.  That’s when you will get the best results.

It’s All About YOU!

The information you provide is used to create a very detailed 34 page summary with words, charts and graphs that are all about YOU!:  your personality, your top 8 vocational interests, your top natural skills that you enjoy and comes easiest to you, and your values about work, your purpose and who and what is important to you.

We’ll confirm all of this about you, in a highly personalized 2 hour student consultation meeting, either in person (in Medina, Ohio) or virtually.

You must be looking forward to the day when you can take classes that actually interest you in college.

You probably know some people who have always known what they want to do and it seems easy for them to just follow their dreams.

But in all reality, for most people, choosing a major and a career is something people don’t really know how to do.  Ask your parents how they got where they are currently..… Most likely, it took a lot of time and a lot of money to figure it out as they went from job to job.

The most expensive way to figure out what you like is by going to college as “undecided” and hoping you’ll figure it out once you’re enrolled.
